BVAA                             AUXILIARY STAR

Summer 2015

A word from Sandy Krasnodemski, President

The BVA Convention is right around the corner: August 17 through August 21, in Louisville, Kentucky.  BVAA has made plans to have a great convention for our members.  We continue to schedule great speakers who have topics of interest for caregivers.  Those who have attended in the past will be happy to know that we will continue to address relevant issues again this year.  Hope to see you there!

We encourage everyone to participate in the BVAA Silent Auction by bringing or sending items, and/or bidding on items of interest.  We always have a wide variety of articles.  A few examples: handmade afghans or throws, hand-turned wooden pens, bowls, vases, candle holders, jewelry, etc.  There are many talented people willing to share their work to help us raise money for our National BVAA Scholarship Fund.  If you find something you think would add interest to our auction, please bring it or send it.  Financial donations are also welcome.  We are a 501 (c)3--your donations are tax deductible.

Please send BVAA Silent Auction items to:

Kathleen Cursh

2114 Middle Lane

Louisville, KY 40216

Items must arrive by August 12th, 2015.

Thank you Kathleen Cursh for volunteering to accept auction items sent by mail.

Forever In Our Thoughts

As we close this year we remember some of our departed members, Barbara Stocking, George DaCorte and Mary R. Appleby and Nancy Geden.  Please let us know if we have missed someone as we do like to send condolences to the families. Contact Carl Hytinen at  chytinen@comcast.net

Volunteer Challenge

Hopefully you have been volunteering at your local VA’s or in other areas serving our Blinded Veterans, other veterans and your local community.  Please take a moment to download the attached reporting form and either bringing your and your friends forms to convention or send it back to Patti Hail at waya@pacifier.com    Those that present them at convention will receive a certificate and the others will follow by mail.
